BLUESTAR OPERATION

In My Previous Post  I have wrote about the assassination Of Mrs: Indira Gandhi and the incidents happened after her death. Today I would like to present what are the factors which leads to the assassination of Mrs: Gandhi

This assassination is the result of Bluestar Operation . This is a military operation

to remove Jarnail Singh Bhindranwala , Retd.Major Gen :Shabeg singh (A Former army officer who is cout martialed by indian army for the crime of corruption) and their armed followers who are sheltered in Golden temple , Amritsar ,Punjab on June 3-8 , 1984.

Bhindranwala and his armed group were ensconded  in the golden temple since 1981,

he actually declared war against the state, By 1983, Harmandir Sahib became a fort for a large number of militants  On 23 April 1983, the Punjab Police Deputy Inspector General A. S. Atwal was shot dead as he left the Harmandir Sahib compound. The following day, after the murder, Harchand Singh Longowal (then president of Shiromani Akali Dal) confirmed the involvement of Bhindranwale in the murder.By 1984 Punjab teetered on the brink. After the rejecting of all the settlement by Bhindranwala Mrs: Gandhi Ordered for a military Action

10.30 p.m. of June 5, 1984, 20 men in black dungarees stealthily entered the Golden Temple led by Lt.Gen.Kuldeep Singh Brar.. They wore night-vision goggles, M-1 steel helmets, bulletproof vests and carried a mix of MP-5 submachine guns and AK-47 assault rifles. The men of sg's 56th Commando Company were then the only force in India trained for room intervention, the specialised art of fighting in confined spaces.

But the Arny Underestimated about the Terrorists, Shabeg knew all the drawbacks of the indian army because he is the one of the officer who trained the Mukthi Bahini Guerillas of east Pakistan (Bangladesh) .

Light machine guns and carbines crackled from behind impregnable walls of the temple, their multiple gun flashes blinding the commandos' night-vision devices, forcing them to take them off.

The commandos and infantry soldiers cautiously advanced, sheltering behind rows of pillars.

On June 6the Bloodshelled Operation Completed  but the Operation Resulted the Casualities of around  500 Civilians and 83 army men.

Operation Bluestar inflamed Sikh sentiments and triggered a mutiny in certain Indian Army units. The consequences led to the assassination of Mrs: Gandhi and after that the Punjab fallen to sikh terrorism for a long years, and after that one of the General Arun Shridhar Vaidya, the Chief of Army Staff at the time of Operation Blue Star, was assassinated in 1986 in Pune by two Sikhs,

In Sep.30 , 2012 Four Sikh youth attempted to murder Retd.Lt.Gen,Kuldeep Singh Brar at London, after 20 years also Bluestar Operation is a black mark on Indian History.
