Previous Week whole world’s attention in Turkey Coup Attempt and its failure. People of Turkey entered to the streets to defend the coup. From the Formation of Republic of Turkey ,Three times army had overthrown the ruling government. The Coup in Turkey failed for first time, Turkish Government alleging the coup was organized by the Islamic Cleric Fethullah Gulen who were in a self-made exile in America.Political analysts says the Coup attempt failure is the changing attitude of Turkish people towards Religious Fundamentalism, But some political analysts arguing that this coup is a Fabricated Drama by the Current President Recep Tayyip Erdogan because he want to change the constitution to a presidential republic and he need to establish a dictator rule under his presidency. at the same time the Islamic Cleric Gulen denied his role in coup.

Turkey Coup attempt

In my point of view also this is a political Drama of Erdogan to achieve his goals to change the constitution in the name of sympathy. Now he fired many judges, military officers and arrested many government officers and he declared two month emergency throughout the country and he started to revenge.A Minority in the army engaged in coup making more Questions. I am going to just explaining Mustafa Kemal Ataturk’s creation of republic of Turkey and the political circumstances of Turkey before after Erdogan came to power to strengthen my View.
After the end of First World War and defeat of Ottoman Empire, an army officer Mr. Mustafa Kemal led a Turkish nationalist movement in Turkish war of independence and in 1923 he established Republic of Turkey and he became the first president of the country and he used the Surname ‘Ataturk’ (In Turkish language it means father of Turkey).
Turkey is a Sunni Muslim Populated nation he made many secular reforms. He ousted the sharia laws from the constitution and he made a secular constitution. Religious symbols like Wearing hijab, keeping long beards etc are banned in schools, government offices and other educational institutions and at the same time the constitution offered the right to follow the religious activities. The religious based educations strictly banned. The constitution also offered a parliamentary republic with President as the head of the state with ceremonial roles only. Ataturk’s these reforms termed as ‘Kemalism’.

In 2003 Recep Tayyip Erdogan and his Justice and Development Party (In Turkish ‘Adalet Ve Kalkinma Partisi’) or AKP came to Power. Erdogan and his party beliefs in extremist ideology of Islam. When he came to power Turkey was in a big financial crisis and the threats from Kurd Terrorist organization for a separate Kurd Nation. He made many reforms to recover the financial stability of the nation.as a result the country overcome from the financial crisis and the construction field got a big boom. These acts increased the popularity.
Gradually he started to change the constitution from secularism to Islamic fundamentalism. He added many Islamic elements in education and justified that he need a pious generation. He lifted the ban on wearing hijab from schools, colleges and government offices. In 2011 he increased the restrictions on freedom of speech, freedom of press and he banned the sales and consumption of alcohols in University campuses. Many people have been given jail sentences for blasphemy. Before Erdogan the jail sentence or any other kind of punishment for blasphemy was a subject that Turkish people never heard before.
Recep Tayyip Erdogan
During the time of election in 2011 Erdogan campaigned for make a referendum to change the military written constitution to an Islamic constitution. For rewriting the constitution with referendum his party requires a majority of 330/550 and without referendum his party has to win a majority of 367 out of 550.but the AKP party currently holds 326 seats in parliament. Due to the constitution Erdogan himself barred from a fourth term prime minister ship. He also tried to increase president’s power from the ceremonial role to executive role. Through that he wanted to run a dictatorship. Due to these acts  In 2013 a group of people around a number of 8 million gathered in ‘Gezi park ‘of Istanbul city for protesting against the policy of Erdogan but the government suppressed the protest.as a result the relation between European Union and Turkey become ruined and it affected the accession process of Turkey with EU. Erdogan elected as President in 2014. In 2015 Turkey fired a Russian fighter plane which was involved in the war against ISIS in Syria. This act ruined the Russia -Turkey relation and it affected the economy. The inflow of tourists from Russia has stopped and Russia made many restrictions to Turkish People and there was a rumor that Erdogan shows a soft corner attitudes towards the ISIS. Russia and other countries alleging that Turkey is the main barrier to vanish ISIS because they are the main consumer of ISIS’s smuggled oil. Erdogan’s Government extradited many foreign media personals.
The above mentioned activities are pointing that the coup attempt may be the Fabricated Drama by Erdogan. Through this he may get more supports by the people in the name of sympathy.
We have Iran and Afghanistan as best example that how a country will ruin when a country change from its secular form to Islamic fundamentalism. And also we know the aftermaths of such reforms in these nations. Also the suppressed religious fundamentalism for a long decade raised again in Erdogan’s ruling. Failure of coup attempt also shown the changed attitude of Turkish people towards the Islamic Fundamentalism. Same way the Khomeini changed the Iran’s Picture.
