47 years back  in 1968  the Prague Spring in Czechoslovakia Statred . This spring Means the Period of Czechoslovakia under Some Reforms . What is Prague Spring,,? I would Like to Discuss below.

Prague Spring:

During the Second world war Czechoslovakia Invaded by the axis Powers. At the end of the war the country was liberated by Soviet Union . but they handed over the Administarion Power to the Communist Party of Czechoslovakia under Soviet Control. This leads to a Stalinist Communist rule in Czechoslovakia. This Led the Nationalisation of  Private Properties , Censorship in Media Activities , Banning of Any type of protests against the government , Control in right to speech etc.
In Jan 05, 1968 Antonin Novotny, the Stalinist ruler of Czechoslovakia, is succeeded as first secretary by Alexander Dubcek, a Slovak who supports liberal reforms. In the first few months of his rule, Dubcek introduced a series of far-reaching political and economic reforms, including increased freedom of speech and the rehabilitation of political dissidents. Dubcek's effort to establish "communism with a human face" was celebrated across the country, and the brief period of freedom became known as the "Prague Spring."
The Soviet Government Refused to make the changes in the Communist Government Policy . Because the soviet Government Feared about the Collapsation of Communism in the Soviet Communist bloc. They warned Dubceck  but he denied to change his policy
But The Prague Spring  has not last long . the reforms continued upto August 20 , 1968.
The Soviet Union answered by invading Czechoslovakia with 6,00,000 Warsaw Pact Troop. But the Students who supported the Dubceck Policy made Resistance against the Soviet Army.   but the soviet tanks suppressed the Student’s resistances. As result the Dubcek Replaced with the Pro –Soviet  Gustav Husak  who re-established  an authoritarian Communist Regime in the Country in april 1969
The Prague spring was Inspired by the Leaders like Vaclav Havel who later became the President of Non Communist Czechoslovakia.
Aftermath of Prague Spring

In 1987 Soviet President Mikhail Gorbachev Introduced his Liberal Policies  “ Perestoika “ and “ Glasnost “. Which equal to the Dubcech’s  Policy of  “ Communism with Human Face “ . In 1989, as Communist governments folded across Eastern Europe, Prague again became the scene of demonstrations for democratic reforms. In December 1989, Husak's government conceded to demands for a multiparty Parliament. Husak resigned, and for the first time in two decades Dubcek returned to politics as chairman of the new Parliament, which subsequently elected playwright Vaclav Havel as president of Czechoslovakia.
